Thank you for watching this powerful interview with James Sexton!

Marriage is something that is so important to people. In fact, you probably thought about what your wedding would be like as a child.
When people go into a marriage they think so much about their venue, their cake, their guest list — but they never really think about what they are signing up for. Marriage is, legally, one of the most important things you can do. You are signing away half of your life. And there’s nothing wrong with that – if it’s the right person.

On this episode of The School of Greatness, I brought on someone who knows so much about people being with the wrong person and how to set yourself up for a great marriage: NYC divorce attorney James Sexton.

They keep basing so much emphasis on SEX!! Great sex is NOT to answer to all of lives problems.

I’m going to send this to my long term SO (whom I’m talking marriage with). Really insightful!

24:00 I'm sorry but not having paid attention is NEVER an excuse or justification for the other part to cheat. People didn't vow to stay faithful to one another ONLY if there's nothing wrong in the marriage. They vowed to stay faithful no matter what. Hence saying something wrong IN A MARRIAGE is a cause to cheat is like saying making someone angry is causing them to mass shoot a school. The real thing wrong is IN CHEATERS THEMSELVES that causes them to cheat.

James is so articulate and mature, fantastic interview, Lewis! Practical yet raw and real. My marriage had so many 'granola bar' moments, I wish I'd been as insightful as the woman in question to identify them. Very insightful.

I got married at 20. I understand it’s gonna be a lifetime of learning. I hope that we both put in the effort to make our marriage last.

Some people these days don’t want to put in the work it takes to make a marriage work. Just stay single.

his advice was so honest and profound but at the same time practical, reaching into the everyday life. i thought i would be depressed after listening to this podcast, but on the contrary, i feel more equiped to deal with the outcomes of life

My divorce is still my main identity (failure) after 30 years and unable to heal despite best efforts.

I met my husband three days before my 18th birthday, we married when I was 19, for 26 yrs. What broke us up was when I was 42, and we'd had 8 babies, I asked him to go "on a date" with me, he refused me >3< times. We'd lived HIS LIFE PREFERENCES, None of MINE. I was done!

what does marriage mean? why do people get married? is it just something we do to check off the box? I got married because I felt like it was the next step. Now I am divorced and question the institution. I am trying to define what marriage means to me. Rather than act on a social norm.

  19. Son Of Hibbs

Wow, the technology of marriage…. brilliant!
